A 23-year-old Happy Valley-Goose Bay man is facing numerous charges after an altercation with the RCMP.
RCMP said at about 8 a.m. on April 2 they responded to a report of a break-in at a residence in the community.
When arriving, RCMP found the man, who had entered the home and refused to leave. According to RCMP he became violent and spit and kicked the officer, causing a minor injury, when RCMP attempted an arrest.
The man is now facing numerous charges including mischief, two counts of failure to comply with a court order, three counts of uttering threats and two counts of assaulting a police officer. He was held in custody and appeared in court this morning, April 3. He has now been remanded until tomorrow.
